A note from the Pastor:

Wow!  The Olympics are over.  I am spoiled forever because of the incredible competition in the games.  Not only did Canada do better than ever, they set a record for the most gold medals by any country in a winter Olympic Games.  The hockey game was a great finale-who could have imagined a better ending-overtime and Sidney Crosby makes the win.  Some people are born to greatness-they seem to be there to perform best in the clutch-I think “Sid the Kid” is such a guy.  He is a “go to” kind of guy that his teammates can depend on when the pressure is greatest.  I’m sure glad he is from Canada.  I felt so proud of all the athletes, and of our country-the way everyone responded to the games and to other nations and competitors was impressive.  I think that our reputation worldwide has been strengthened.  But I had to ponder, because of course, not everyone lived up to the hype and the expectation.  What disappointment for many who fell short of their goals (or medals).  Truth is, even Sidney Crosby cannot come through all the time-he and those who depend on him will be disappointed.  There is only one person who never lets us down; one person whom we can trust with our lives; on person who demonstrated love so great that is cost Him His life.  That person is Jesus.  Everything I have-everything I enjoy, comes from Jesus.  The Bible says, “every good and perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of Lights, with whom is no variableness or shadow of turning.”  In a hockey games, a smart person would put their money on Sidney Crosby.  In life a smart person would put their money, their trust, their hope, in Jesus, who said, “In the world you will have trouble, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”  Jesus is the “go to” guy for all of life’s circumstances.  Trust Jesus with your life-you will never be sorry.
